My Rock of Refuge

"In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;     let me never be put to shame! In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;     incline your ear to me, and save me! Be to me a rock of refuge,     to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me,     for you are my rock and my fortress." Psalm 71:1-3

I Have Called You By Name

But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Isaiah 43:1-3

His Purpose For Me

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,     for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,     till the storms of destruction pass by. I cry out to God Most High,     to God who fulfills his purpose for me. He will send from heaven and save me... Psalm 57:1-2

My Only Comfort

Q. What is your only comfort in life and death? A. That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. Therefore, by his Holy Spirit he also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for him. Heidelberg Catechism

A Prisoner of Hope

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!     Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you;     righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey,     on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim     and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off,     and he shall speak peace to the nations; his rule shall be from sea to sea,     and from the River to the ends of the earth. As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you,     I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit. Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope;     today I declare that I will restore to you double. Zechariah 9:9-12

Take Me Home

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart Then I shall bow, in humble adoration And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!" Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
